Is this a legit strategy?

Sat Oct 13, 2012 2:32 am

Hi,

I'm new to all this, so would appreciate any views.

I've found that I can advertise on Google using the keyword of the name of the site that I am an affiliate for. I get hits / conversions, but I'm not sure that it's ok to do this.

Say it's 'Bobsdogfood.com' (for example) - I'm placing ads for the 'Bob's dog food' keyword. Getting conversions / some small profit.

I've looked in the T&C's for the site, but I can't find anything saying I'm not allowed to do this.

thoughts?

thanks.

Hi skuzzle, Welcome to the forum!

Some affiliate agreements forbid such keywords bidding and give affiliates a list of keywords they must not use. However, some affiliate agreements actively encourage keyword bidding.

If it's not mentioned in the affiliate agreement, go for it. :)
