Right - an Affiliate program is where affiliates (webmasters) can register and start to promote a companies products online on their own website and then get paid for it.
There is usually an Affiliate Manager to help - the program also stands of different commissions. Some programs pay Cost Per Action - some pay some % of Commission and so on - I think you should Google it to get the whole picture.

Basically, Affiliate marketing is really selling other peoples' products for them on the internet. Also, The seller offers cash incentive to the affiliate marketer for providing the sales leads.

Hi All

Basically the affiliate marketing is that kind of marketing in which publishers are rewarded for helping a business by promoting their product, service or site.

I would recommend that you start from ClickBank to take a good close look of Online marketing.

Affiliate marketing

An affiliate is someone who promotes a product or service to potential customers, in exchange for a commission on the sale when one occurs.

For example, let’s say Alan is an avid gardener. He buys a great ebook through ClickBank about growing bigger roses, and wants to recommend it to others. He signs up for a free account with ClickBank, then finds the ebook about roses in the ClickBank Marketplace and creates a customized HopLink. He posts this HopLink in places where he thinks people would be interested in the ebook, such as a gardening forum he’s a member of, his gardening blog, his Facebook profile, even in an email to some of his gardener friends. The possibilities really are limitless.

If someone clicks on his HopLink to learn more about the ebook and ends up purchasing it, Alan gets a generous commission on the sale— as much as 75%, depending on the product!

I'm sure Allan has a great training on this site for newbie Affiliates.

Adam Short, of Niche Profit Classroom, also has a great intro training. It only costs $1 to get started for two weeks and in that time you can get your first affiliate website up earning passive money for you.

Allan is an affiliate of NPC and if you click on one of the NPC banners on this site it will give him a commission and support this forum.

As long as you find one that is actually selling quality then yes, they are worth it. If however, you join one that sells rubbish then you'll spend all your time giving refunds and getting a bad reputation. Try and look around for well-known brands and see if you can join them.

As an affiliate you don't have to worry about giving refunds right? For me I haven't gotten paid if the client wanted a refund, I just lost the commission and it was never sent.

An affiliate program is an online marketing operation or behavior that associates businesses selling products online with websites related to those products. The websites are run by third parties who sell products and services for the Internet company and in return receive a small commission.
