Blog site is to increase your knowledge while social networking is just to increase your friends circle. Social networking is an act of engagement. Groups of people with common interests, or like-minds, associate together on social networking sites and build relationships through community.

Blogs are online diaries, where we can share our details, but social networking service is an online service, that focuses on brand building and reflecting of social networks or social relations among people.

Blogging is considered to be one kind of online diary where you can update your thoughts time to time. Social networking is used for making friends as well as to promote your business too.

There is a lot of difference between blogging and social media sites. In blogging sites you have to share your content and in this way you get back-links. In social media sites you can share anything and these sites are for interaction rather then content sharing.

Blogs are journals which are authored by one individual. Also blogs are updates with long contents with interesting posts. Whereas social networks are similar to a conference.

Blogging is updating blog on a regular basis to share, stories, experiences and more, on the other hand social networking is working on social media sites to drive traffic to a website.

Do it together. Both are effective strategies in getting traffic and a good ranking on the search engines. Many people use these things to drive their leads through the roof, especially when it is done correctly.

You should maintain both forms mainly to get more traffic, better visibility among the net, visits and clicks on ads.

They are totally different, blogging needs content in a forum of article while social bookmarking sites need a site description only.

social networking has one specific goal: create a network of contacts.

Depending the social network, these contacts can be friends or professional partners.

As example, in Facebook contacts are friends, and you share casual photos, ideas, links.

LinkedIn is a professional network where you build a network of contacts for career and job reasons.
