keyword density in articles

Wed Oct 27, 2010 7:19 pm

when i started out in article writing 3 years ago, i was very particular that my articles had 5% keyword density. i wonder if that helped coz my site's page rank became higher (pr3)?

is it still applicable now or is 5% keyword density considered keyword stuffing?

In my recent reading/searching on this topic I've come up with 2-8%.

Most SEO sites these days say that a mathematical percentage of x% is less important than inclusion of your key words in such things as the title, heading tags, etc. The key seems to be to write relevant content that uses your desired key words strategically leave it at that.

Ezine accepts about 3 percent or less keyword density. Since it is reputable, then I guess that should be the norm.

Keyword density times the words on the page are listed the total number of words on a page, presented as a percentage compared with the numbers. With a high density of keywords for the page is a better chance to get indexed by search engines. The percentage of search engine marketers used to determine the ideal keyword density,

Ezine does not accept more than 2% k/w (excluding title, but including `resource box')... use of secondary and tertiary key phrases recommended... like if your site is about boots, use related words like shoes, slippers, footwear, etc... that helps get a higher PR... and that is why `Wiki' also gets a high PR for most searches. :)

Percentage doesn't really matter when it comes to content in your sites (not article directories). As long as search engines don't consider it as keyword-spam - you should be fine with even 10% density, but that's not recommended.

In article marketing, your choice of specific keywords in each article and the density it entails can make a difference in boosting your rankings. It has really advanced in looking not only at keyword density of your primary keywords, but also in how the other content in your article supports those keywords.

Because of spamming, most of the quality article submission sites restrict the usage of keyword.
It helps them to keep a control of the quality of content submitted, which is very vital.

Therefore, there is no fixed keyword density. The idea is a clever way to use them, nor can it hinder readability or dilution of truthful information, not underutilized case, so that you do not search results ranked higher. Three keyword density is generally considered to be very good.

Our idea is to use them in such a clever fashion, it will not hinder readability or dilute the real message, nor is it a case of under-utilized, so you do not rank high in search results. Typically 3-5% keyword density should be ideal.

According to me, if keyword density is greater than 3% then it becomes keyword stuffing...

I have been blogging nd writing article and press releases for over 4 years now and personally I have never really bothered about the keyword density. My simple motto is if anything doesn't look to your eyes wont look good to SE's.. and trust me it has worked quite well so far!
