Datafeedr and SpeedPPC

Fri Dec 05, 2008 2:10 pm

I am interested in both Datafeedr and SpeedPPC, will they work together or would they be in conflict?

Also I see that Datafeedr allows 1 domain for $27, would it be possible to build a few stores on the same domain using directories for each niche. eg. www.furniture/chairs - 1 store, www.furniture/beds - another store, etc etc

I haven't tried it, but I think you could use them together. With Datafeedr, one option is to create pages which you design, to target particular keywords, either for SEO or PPC.

So you could create a page in Datafeedr and then use that page as a template to use in combination with SpeedPPC to create dozens or hundreds of perfectly targeted pages for PPC.

You could use Datafeedr to create lots of different templates and then use SpeedPPC to create thousands of landing pages for PPC. These extra pages wouldn't be visible on your site and you wouldn't make them visible to search engines because they'd be so similar - they'd just be for PPC.

Also I see that Datafeedr allows 1 domain for $27, would it be possible to build a few stores on the same domain using directories for each niche. eg. www.furniture/chairs - 1 store, www.furniture/beds - another store, etc etc

For $27, you can create a furniture store which has many different categories, for chairs, beds, and so on. Each of those categories IS a different directory. The URL structure isn't quite as simple as www.furniture/chairs, though.

You also have the option of using sub-domains, such as beds.furniture.com, chairs.furniture.com, etc., but each of those would be a separate store, so you'd need an unlimited subscription if you wanted lots of sub-domains.

Thanks Allan. that's very helpful. I had thought about using subdomains and thought that something like:

www.discount101.com

would be ideal and then I could use it for:

www.chairs.discount101.com
or
www.mp3.discount101.com
or
www.bikes.discount101.com
etc etc
I've checked with Eric and I would need an Datafeedr install for each sub, so I'll probably start with the single install and test it. If it works I'll then extend it.
Eric wasn't sure about using Datfeedr with SpeedPPC but based on your reply I'll give it a go. If I need help in working the two together I presume your support team for SpeedPPC will help?

Of course! There's a private SpeedPPC forum where you can ask questions. Also, I've told the SpeedPPC Product Manager, Reena, about this thread.

A couple of thoughts...

The impression your site creates will depend a lot on the WordPress theme you choose for your site. Although there are hundreds or thousands of free themes to choose from, you may decide to get one custom made so you can present exactly the image you want.

If you created a Datafeedr site, and then created a special page using Datafeedr, and used that page as a template to use with SpeedPPC, I THINK that would work. Canceling your Datafeedr subscription won't make a site break - you just can't get updates for the datafeeds.

Good luck! Please let us know how it works.

If you get SpeedPCC based on these plans and if for any reason you can't make it work with Datafeedr, just ask for a refund.

Thanks Allan, all very helpful.

I've spoken with Reena before, she provided some great replies.
Good luck! Please let us know how it works.

I'll keep you posted on progress.

Allan - I've just had this reply from Eric at Datafeedr:
To explain a little about how Datafeedr works:

1. We aggregate all of the data feeds into our factory
2. Members (you) build your store choosing only the products you want
3. After you are done building your store, you download a special data feed file (though it's not structured exactly like other data feed files)
4. You import that new feed file into your blog (ie. into the database)
5. The products are pulled from the database and displayed on your site
6. When a user clicks a product to "buy" it, your affiliate ID gets added to the link and off the user goes to the merchant's site.

You won't get any traditional data feed files. If you need a list of products & links, you can export your list from the database using phpMyAdmin.

Does this help to work out whether Datafeedr can be used with SpeedPPC?

I don't see anything in that description that makes me change my mind. I think it's worth trying.

Datafeedr and SpeedPPC would definitely work together. Up to know they are still ok to use. So far no conflict or problems experience by me when I use them at the same time.

I use Datafeedr and SpeedPPC at the same time and so far there's no problem on it. The issue of conflict is false.

Yes I agree with Angelica, I have use also those two good PPC programs and I never experience any conflict at all. But I think when it comes on other PPC programs maybe there will be conflicts.

The first solution we show you in the SpeedPPC User Guide is a simple keyword passing method. So by using special URL’s, you can pass keywords into the landing page to help increase relevancy. These demos are a great supplement to the SpeedPPC User Guide or you can use these to kick-start you straight into building campaigns.

That is 324$/year ... I mean expansive. There are products on the market that do the same thing but you only pay them once. After that all is for free.
