Any chance of banning signature links?

It would improve the signal-to-noise ratio.

Good question.

I tend to see the provision of a signature file as a sort of "payment" for taking part on the forum.

On the other hand, allowing signatures seems to encourage lots of quick visits by people who obviously don't want to participate and just want to flash their signature files.

I wonder how many of our regular members would continue to use this forum if we dumped signature files?

Hey, Everyone...

Is the main reason you come here to participate, or to try to get people to click on the link in your signature?

What would be your reaction if we dumped signatures?

Would it improve the forum, or would the forum die?

What do you think?

I agree. I always try to provide value as I participate (and I would think if you check my posts you would agree) but I'm also in business therefore the time I spend anywhere must show some return.

It's called keeping the lights on :-)
