for beginners free "blogger" and "word press" is the best to get acquainted with blogging, but since they are free, they have only limited features, as and when u need to expand your blogging, you can resort to professional blogging such as tucktail.com which even supports multimedia and graphics

I think blogspot is a good software for a blog. These services are provided by google. I think he has approved most of the comment. It is also one of the most famous and preferred by people.

Just try to Check it out with wordpress because Wordpress would be the best. Easy to work with, free of cost, lot of free plugins. For more option and preferences I would suggest to look for your own hosting rather than using their free hosting version.

Well, I am agree that Wordpress is the best blogging software. It comes with built in RSS feed. This means you have the capability to combine your content. This is a very strong traffic attracting software.

I think the most popular software is Wordpress. I work every day in this system and I've never had problem. Really easy to use program. Now we can find free templates for Wordpress and before using/buying check its features and options and compare with another cms.

Wordpress and Joomla! are very good and trusted systems. You can use tools, like Artisteer to create great designs and export ready websites to them.

well if you really want getting into commercial blogging, I would recommend getting a domain first. After you have got one, we can discuss software. I have used wordpress for almost all of my blogs, and on a personal note, I have found it more easy to use than most other platforms.

Wordpress is the best, it is easy, powerful, flexible, has many templates, has many plugins. What else do you want? :)
